Hi artiny and welcome to SEF smile

First let me say..... I love the lay out, the colors, the font, the navigation and just about everything about this site!

The first thing I did notice ( after all the good stuff ) was as a visitor landing at your site, I would be clueless what I was to do there.

Now of course to you it is clear what the site is made for, but you need to look at it from a visitors point of view. A visitor who just ended up on it from some where else.

I used all the features and found them to be very user friendly.

Now do you plan to just get your traffic from word of mouth? As in is this site just for your students? Or do you want to get a ranking in the SE ( search engines ) ?

You are missing a lot to get a SE listing or a ranking of any kind.
I will hold off on explaining what you need to do about those issues after you post and let me know your plans for this site as far as marketing it goes.

Note* I hit refresh and the main page would not load for me - twice. Hopefully it is just a glitch thing and maybe it's on my end, but you may want to try that out to be sure it is not a major issue on your end.

HI Artiny, The site layout is simple and color combination is good. However, after I did a search I got "The server is under heavy load" error

I really liked it. The home page reminded me of Google and it was immediately obvious to me that it was a search engine.

Having the dropdown list for the search categories / types beside the search box seems a great idea and I much prefer it to Google's method where you have to click on a link and go to a new page.

I also liked the facility to double click on words to get their definition.

I think that the VOVLA logo should always link back to the home page whiCh it does not do at the moment.

Small thing but I like the favicon and I have added it to my favorites.

The links to directory, web, dictionary etc are very slow and seem to be directed to subdomains and then re-directed back.

Overall its great - well done. Philip

I like the look of the site!

My design reccomendations are:

move the sign up for e-mail to the top right of the page and change bg color to white or light colors and move that adsens center, and make it a long horizonal add as opposed to a skyscraper
