Amazingly he missed the first way to get traffic - build a quality site with unique and interesting content.
There's no point getting 50,000,000 visitors who all leave instantly because the site is cr*p - or not built yet!

One way or directory submission is the best method for improving back links and traffic.
Infact google gives more importance to one way links.

Sorry,you are mistaken.
One way links form relevent indexed pages are the best backlinks counted by google.
Links form better directories and open directories are very essential for a website.

Neither of you are wrong; note that mj said most.
The key to directory use is Quality Directories - and no directory that asks for reciprocal links has the remotest idea of what quality means, let alone how to achieve it.
Fewer that 5% of directories probably qualify as Quality - and if you separate out local and niche directories, many of which are excellent, probably fewer than 1% of general directories are Quality Directories.

I have found that the best way to drive traffic is to be consistent. Write an article each day and post it. Respond in your forums, blogs, social network sites - every day! This is the best way to get people to be interested in your information and therefore want to go to your website to see what else you have to offer.
